Today my “not so little” boy is turning 4 months old. I’m definitely crying on the inside. Time has gone by like a blink of the eye. I want to go back in time to February 7th at 1:32a.m. The very second he was welcomed into the world. I want to go back to the very second I held him in my arms, and felt an instant love. I want to go back to our first night at home, the anxious feeling of whats to come. But I know I can’t go back. There are so many wonderful things ahead of us, and I wait with anticipation of what’s to come.

Weight: 13 LBS

Height: 24 IN

Rolling Over: Yes! From stomach to back and back to stomach. He’s master the stomach to back, and is working hard on back to stomach

Sleep: His sleep has gotten so much better, for the past week and a half he’s STTN. He goes to bed around 8am and wakes at 5-6am.                            Thanks God for his daddy, because I’m not a morning person, AT ALL! He’s moved into is his room. I thought I would be scared to                 have him be alone, but he sleeps so much better in there.  We still swaddle him, but plan on stopping soon.

Food: He’s been eating formula only for the past 2 months. The other day I wanted to see if he would take the boob again, perhaps for                     closure, but he screamed every time I tried. So there’s my closure I guess. He started solids  and loves it. He’s had bananas,                              butternut squash, rice, and oatmeal. I’ve made all of the baby food myself, which I plan to continue to do.I just use a grinder then               freeze it in ice-cube trays, and store it in dated containers. It’s so simple to just go warm it up and feed him. He’s eating 5oz every 3-             4hours, if we give him more he’ll end up spitting up.

Teeth: None yet, but he’s definitely teething. He’s a total drool-face, and eats his hands all day.

Likes: Staring in the mirror, Sophie, t.v, this fingers, his feet, being outside, his paci, he laughs when you stick your tongue out at him,                    being held, baths and the ABC song

Dislikes: Getting dressed, diaper changes, being put down, being the backseat alone (so driving alone has become a challenge), massages

Favorite toys: Teething book, Sophie, and his Wubby

Here are his 4 month photos we took today. Now I’m off to finish whiting my teeth with Crest White Strips and go to bed! This mama is tired!

Sensational Finds…. Spin pins, Candles, and Baby makes 3

:Side Note: Today is part 3 of 7 Days of Sensational Finds. These are two products I use all the time and love. Sunday I will post the details to the giveaway so please make sure you check back. If you have any items you think would be a good prize please let me know. I have some ideas but would like to get some others. Hope you enjoy this post. Please subscribe and comment.

Goodie Spin Pins- This is the best invention out, for hair accessories. These two bad boys take the place of 30 bobbie pins, and make it super easy to throw your hair in a bun. I’ve always hated having hair in my face. and now I have a baby that yanks on my hair like it’s his job. So for me, having my hair up is just works. The pins are a corkscrew shape, and come in either regular or short, light or dark. This makes it possible to use on short hair. It may seem complicated but it’s pretty simple to use. What you do is, take your hair into a pony tail (it can be high, low, half-up, loose or tight), wrap it in a bun (make sure your ends are tucked in), screw 1st pin (clockwise) at the top, and then the 2nd at the bottom (making sure you don’t interlock them). There you have it, a cute easy alternative to wearing your hair up. They’re available at all drugstores for about $6

TINDRA MYS Scented block candle red Package quantity: 3 pack Package quantity: 3 pack

Tindra Candles from Ikea– Whenever I’m home I usually have candles burning. To me it’s relaxing and makes your house feel like a home. I love to try different brands and scents of candles. More so than not, I’m disappointed by something. I tried the Tindra candle from Ikea mostly because they were so cheap. I was surprised to find it’s a wonderful candle. It’s a warm berry scent, that fills the whole room and that’s most important to me. Have you ever brought a candle, smelled it and liked it, then when you get home and burn it, you can’t smell it at all. That drives me crazy. The Tindra candle comes in 6 different sizes. I use the small size in glass, it burns for 30 hours and cost $1.99. After 1 hour your room will smell amazing. Since I’m home all day it’s important that my house feels relaxing and calm. Candles are one way I make my house a home. You might have guests come over after your baby arrives, before they get there light a candle. It will make your home smell warm and welcoming.

7 Days of Sensational Finds (Part 3)

1. Gas drops and Gripe Water- Most baby tend to have A TON of gas and B was one of them. He would be in tears because of the discomfort. He  still has gas, but it’s gotten better and he doesn’t cry about it anymore. Gas drops are great to have just incase you LO gets it. You should give them to him before he eats or mix it into the bottle if they get one. We also gave him Gripe Water, which is a natural remedie for gas, colic, or reflux. It contains ginger, fennel, and sodium bicarbonate, which all are good for stomach discomfort. Leg exercises like bicycles are great to use as well, to help get the gas out. We use the Target brand and that runs about $3.00. Mylicon is the top rated brand for babies and that can run about $10.00. Gripe Water is available at drugstores, Wal-mart, Target or online at Amazon.com

2. Hand Soap and Sanitizer- Everyone knows, with a newborn your always washing your hands. I went to Bath & Body Works and brought a bunch of different scented soaps and sanitizer. I love the Japanese Cherry Blossom scent. It was so nice to go wash my hands and smell this lovely scent. I had a hand sanitizer on our coffee table so any time someone came over I would have them wash or sanitize their hands. Plus since it was sitting right there I would remember to do it and others would see I mean business! Ha! While your there get yourself a good hand cream because those bad boys will be dry from all the washing. I also keep the mini size hand sanitizer in my diaper bag and car. Wet Ones Antibacterial Wipes are also a great option to keep with you or at house for a quick wipe down.

These are two products I have used from the day Baby B was born. They’re definitely part of my baby arsenal. And I think every new mom should have a baby arsenal.

What’s in your baby arsenal?

Today I’m gonna do a “throw back” picture of the baby just to see how much he’s grown in the past 16 weeks!

7 Days of Sensational Finds (Part 2)

Today is day 2 of 7 Days of Sensational Finds. Today is also Memorial Day so I hope everyone had a relaxing day,  I sure did. It was 95 degrees out so we stayed in the house and ordered BBQ. I wasn’t down for sitting in that sun, sweating to death, while some cooked on the grill. So i happily drove to our local barbeque restaurant and ordered take out! I also want to say thank you to all the troops for giving us this day!

If your interested in a giveaway of some of the products I mention this week please leave a comment below! So far one person has, so Thanks : )

1. 5 S’s method (Happiest Baby On The Block)- The method consists of Swaddle, Side or Stomach, Shush, Swing, Suck and if used together will calm and crying baby. I brought the book and haven’t read the whole thing but I’ve watched the video and really feel this is the best way to get B to sleep. At 4 months we are still swaddling him, but need to use the “Escape proof” method I found here on YouTube. We use that method at night so he’s able to sleep longer without startling himself. During the day we’ve started to swaddle with 1 arm out, so we can begin the transition to not swaddling at all.  Baby B is always trying to fight his naps and once these steps are done he’s relaxed and falling a sleep. The idea behind the 5 S’s is to imitate the womb. I truly believe this is the reason we are able to get him to sleep so quickly. Take a look at the video and maybe try it with your LO and see if it works for you.

3. Johnson’s and Johnson’s Bedtime Bath and Lotion- I love the way this smells and we use it every night as part of our bedtime routine. We do bath-sease time every night around 7:30-8pm. It’s our family time. We sing funny songs to Baby B, and just make it fun and special for all of us. The wash and lotion both have lavender in them, which helps relax the baby. Once out of the tub we use the lotion to give him a baby massage. The wash, lotion, and massage combined make it a breeze to put Baby B down for the night. If you have a Target near you they make a dup for the Bedtime products. The Up and Up Bedtime products come in two different sizes, and cost half the price. That’s what we use and it works just the same, but I do like the Johnson’s lotion better. Only because the lotion is thicker and soaks into the skin better. Other then that the Up and Up lotion is just fine

Daily Picture Day 4

7 Days of Sensational Finds and a Giveaway?!?

Starting this week, everyday I will talk about 1 or 2 products I love as a new mom.  I’m by no means a mommy pro, but I do have a few items that I love and want to recommend for any new mom. I did so much research and reading on different baby products and the book “The girlfriends’ guide to baby gear” by Vicki Iovine really gave me a realistic ideas of what’s actually necessary. So definitely check that book out if your pregnant and want some pointers. Once the baby comes home you will see what works best for you and them but here’s a couple of things that I swear by, and still use at 4 months old.

:Side Note: Next Sunday I wanted to do a giveaway of some of the products I mention. I’m not sure if anyone would want to enter but if you would want to do please comment below so I can go out this week and purchase them. Then on Sunday I would post all the details. So, comment below if a giveaway is something your into! Now back to what I was talking about!

1. Pampers Swaddler diapers– I read that you should buy a few different brands just incase your Little One (LO) was allergic, but I didn’t know that some diapers just leak for the hell of it. Huggies is one brand for us that just leak! It happens often with boys. We had about 100 that I  had to give to my sister who’s having a baby girl. Pamper Swaddler  also comes in sensitive, and doesn’t have the Dry Max that can cause irritation for some. I just love the swaddlers. They have the wetness indicator on the front of the diaper so if they are wet you can tell with just looking and not have to do the “sniff test”. Pampers has a great program Gifts That Grow, almost all the products you buy have codes located on them.  You can redeem them online for points, once you accumulate different amounts of points you can get free things. I’m all about free things, so I love it. I definitely think Pampers Swaddlers’ are the way to go for boys.

2. The Soothie– This is the best pacifier. When Baby B was in the hospital they gave us this pacifier to use and he’s used it ever since. Of course I went out and brought all the cute pacifiers that say ” MY MOMS HOT”. He just won’t use them. They have a more round shaped nipple. The Soothie is more like mothers’ nipple, slim and long. The colors aren’t fun at all. Blue, Pink, and green is all you’re getting. One cool “accessory” sold for your soothie is a  Wubbanub Plush Pacifier Toys. It’s a Soothie attached to a stuffed animal, which is a genius idea. Baby B is constantly spitting out the pacifier in his sleep, I’ll have to go and put it back in his mouth once he starts to cry. The stuffed animal rests on your LO chest so they can’t lose the paci so easily.  You have to buy it already attached which kind of sucks, but they are just too cute not to have. These two are a must!

Here’s our daily pictures from yesterday (5/28) and today (5/29).

5/28 Hanging outside in his Bumbo

He loved eating ‘nanas! He did so well with them, but made a funny face when the flash went off.

Baby B and his cousin Gia. They kept staring at each other, looking really confused. They’re exactly 4 months apart.

My handsome boy enjoying a BBQ with family and friends.

Day 3: Here’s Lookin’ At You Kid!

This baby boy has looks to kill! I’m always looking at him like, whose baby are you? Today was a good day, we just hung around the house and laid around, playing all day. I didn’t do any cleaning or anything a good housewife does. It’s not easy being a stay-at-home mom, taking care of Baby B is hard enough. But having to clean and cook on top of that is so much. I’m trying to get our house into a good routine, but that’s a work in progress. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend. What are your plans for this holiday weekend?

Day 2: Soaking Up The Sun

Today is our 2nd day snapping pictures of Baby B to capture the First year of his life.

I think he might be teething because he’s constantly wanting to chew anything. He’s also been a little fussy, so I’m giving him gripe water and that seems to help. I also brought him a new chew toy that he seems to like. I’ve been waiting to buy Sophie (click here to see the worlds most famous teething toy) but I guess I’m going to need it sooner than I thought.

Today the weather was warm and beautiful, so we brought a blanket out and just chilled. Baby B loves being outside! He could be crying and the minute we walk outside he stops! He loved looking up at the trees and putting his little feet in the grass. The first picture cracks me up! What a funny face. What is something you like to do when the weather is warm and beautiful? Please leave a comment and let me know!

Day 1(06) only 259 days to go!

I’ve decided to start taking pictures of Baby B everyday until he turns 1. I got the idea from a lovely girl on the Bump who also blogs (click here to check her out) about her daughter and documents almost everyday with a picture. I’m so excited to add this into my blog as well as my usual blog posts. It’s so important to me to have pictures of our family. I’ve always loved taking pictures so now I have to do it even if there’s nothing special going on. Bobby is already 3 months 2 weeks and 4 days old so we’ve missed 106 days, but that’s ok! We will just start with Day1 to make life a hell of a lot easier.

We continue to have an obsession with anything that goes in our mouth! For now we stick with teething rings, hands, and frozen banana’s. We broke out his walker a week ago and he’s okay with it for about 5 minutes. His feet don’t touch the ground, but I know once they do it’s off to the races. Everyday is something new, and he totally has stolen my heart!

So I know it was picture heavy next time I promise not as many! I hope you all are having a great week! Please leave a comment or subscribe I would love it ❤
