Sensational Finds…. Spin pins, Candles, and Baby makes 3

:Side Note: Today is part 3 of 7 Days of Sensational Finds. These are two products I use all the time and love. Sunday I will post the details to the giveaway so please make sure you check back. If you have any items you think would be a good prize please let me know. I have some ideas but would like to get some others. Hope you enjoy this post. Please subscribe and comment.

Goodie Spin Pins- This is the best invention out, for hair accessories. These two bad boys take the place of 30 bobbie pins, and make it super easy to throw your hair in a bun. I’ve always hated having hair in my face. and now I have a baby that yanks on my hair like it’s his job. So for me, having my hair up is just works. The pins are a corkscrew shape, and come in either regular or short, light or dark. This makes it possible to use on short hair. It may seem complicated but it’s pretty simple to use. What you do is, take your hair into a pony tail (it can be high, low, half-up, loose or tight), wrap it in a bun (make sure your ends are tucked in), screw 1st pin (clockwise) at the top, and then the 2nd at the bottom (making sure you don’t interlock them). There you have it, a cute easy alternative to wearing your hair up. They’re available at all drugstores for about $6

TINDRA MYS Scented block candle red Package quantity: 3 pack Package quantity: 3 pack

Tindra Candles from Ikea– Whenever I’m home I usually have candles burning. To me it’s relaxing and makes your house feel like a home. I love to try different brands and scents of candles. More so than not, I’m disappointed by something. I tried the Tindra candle from Ikea mostly because they were so cheap. I was surprised to find it’s a wonderful candle. It’s a warm berry scent, that fills the whole room and that’s most important to me. Have you ever brought a candle, smelled it and liked it, then when you get home and burn it, you can’t smell it at all. That drives me crazy. The Tindra candle comes in 6 different sizes. I use the small size in glass, it burns for 30 hours and cost $1.99. After 1 hour your room will smell amazing. Since I’m home all day it’s important that my house feels relaxing and calm. Candles are one way I make my house a home. You might have guests come over after your baby arrives, before they get there light a candle. It will make your home smell warm and welcoming.

7 Days of Sensational Finds and a Giveaway?!?

Starting this week, everyday I will talk about 1 or 2 products I love as a new mom.  I’m by no means a mommy pro, but I do have a few items that I love and want to recommend for any new mom. I did so much research and reading on different baby products and the book “The girlfriends’ guide to baby gear” by Vicki Iovine really gave me a realistic ideas of what’s actually necessary. So definitely check that book out if your pregnant and want some pointers. Once the baby comes home you will see what works best for you and them but here’s a couple of things that I swear by, and still use at 4 months old.

:Side Note: Next Sunday I wanted to do a giveaway of some of the products I mention. I’m not sure if anyone would want to enter but if you would want to do please comment below so I can go out this week and purchase them. Then on Sunday I would post all the details. So, comment below if a giveaway is something your into! Now back to what I was talking about!

1. Pampers Swaddler diapers– I read that you should buy a few different brands just incase your Little One (LO) was allergic, but I didn’t know that some diapers just leak for the hell of it. Huggies is one brand for us that just leak! It happens often with boys. We had about 100 that I  had to give to my sister who’s having a baby girl. Pamper Swaddler  also comes in sensitive, and doesn’t have the Dry Max that can cause irritation for some. I just love the swaddlers. They have the wetness indicator on the front of the diaper so if they are wet you can tell with just looking and not have to do the “sniff test”. Pampers has a great program Gifts That Grow, almost all the products you buy have codes located on them.  You can redeem them online for points, once you accumulate different amounts of points you can get free things. I’m all about free things, so I love it. I definitely think Pampers Swaddlers’ are the way to go for boys.

2. The Soothie– This is the best pacifier. When Baby B was in the hospital they gave us this pacifier to use and he’s used it ever since. Of course I went out and brought all the cute pacifiers that say ” MY MOMS HOT”. He just won’t use them. They have a more round shaped nipple. The Soothie is more like mothers’ nipple, slim and long. The colors aren’t fun at all. Blue, Pink, and green is all you’re getting. One cool “accessory” sold for your soothie is a  Wubbanub Plush Pacifier Toys. It’s a Soothie attached to a stuffed animal, which is a genius idea. Baby B is constantly spitting out the pacifier in his sleep, I’ll have to go and put it back in his mouth once he starts to cry. The stuffed animal rests on your LO chest so they can’t lose the paci so easily.  You have to buy it already attached which kind of sucks, but they are just too cute not to have. These two are a must!

Here’s our daily pictures from yesterday (5/28) and today (5/29).

5/28 Hanging outside in his Bumbo

He loved eating ‘nanas! He did so well with them, but made a funny face when the flash went off.

Baby B and his cousin Gia. They kept staring at each other, looking really confused. They’re exactly 4 months apart.

Day 3: Here’s Lookin’ At You Kid!

This baby boy has looks to kill! I’m always looking at him like, whose baby are you? Today was a good day, we just hung around the house and laid around, playing all day. I didn’t do any cleaning or anything a good housewife does. It’s not easy being a stay-at-home mom, taking care of Baby B is hard enough. But having to clean and cook on top of that is so much. I’m trying to get our house into a good routine, but that’s a work in progress. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend. What are your plans for this holiday weekend?

Day 2: Soaking Up The Sun

Today is our 2nd day snapping pictures of Baby B to capture the First year of his life.

I think he might be teething because he’s constantly wanting to chew anything. He’s also been a little fussy, so I’m giving him gripe water and that seems to help. I also brought him a new chew toy that he seems to like. I’ve been waiting to buy Sophie (click here to see the worlds most famous teething toy) but I guess I’m going to need it sooner than I thought.

Today the weather was warm and beautiful, so we brought a blanket out and just chilled. Baby B loves being outside! He could be crying and the minute we walk outside he stops! He loved looking up at the trees and putting his little feet in the grass. The first picture cracks me up! What a funny face. What is something you like to do when the weather is warm and beautiful? Please leave a comment and let me know!

Day 1(06) only 259 days to go!

I’ve decided to start taking pictures of Baby B everyday until he turns 1. I got the idea from a lovely girl on the Bump who also blogs (click here to check her out) about her daughter and documents almost everyday with a picture. I’m so excited to add this into my blog as well as my usual blog posts. It’s so important to me to have pictures of our family. I’ve always loved taking pictures so now I have to do it even if there’s nothing special going on. Bobby is already 3 months 2 weeks and 4 days old so we’ve missed 106 days, but that’s ok! We will just start with Day1 to make life a hell of a lot easier.

We continue to have an obsession with anything that goes in our mouth! For now we stick with teething rings, hands, and frozen banana’s. We broke out his walker a week ago and he’s okay with it for about 5 minutes. His feet don’t touch the ground, but I know once they do it’s off to the races. Everyday is something new, and he totally has stolen my heart!

So I know it was picture heavy next time I promise not as many! I hope you all are having a great week! Please leave a comment or subscribe I would love it ❤

Family Time is My Favorite Time

Today we decided to spend some family time together in Center City. It was a warm day and there’s nothing better than walking around enjoying the city. So we packed the diaper bag and headed out. We went to South St. since it’s full of shops and stuff, but it wasn’t as nice as I remember it to be. I always loved to go there and shop but they didn’t have any good stores. We went to eat at Reading Terminal Market, which is a farmers market with a variety of amazing food.

Bobby had gumbo from a creole restaurant, he said it was delicious. They even had alligator, but he wasn’t ready to try that.

I had the chicken wings from the Amish market. They taste so fresh and homemade. The wings are just seasoned and you can put a homemade hot sauce on them if you want. I just like them dry.  When I saw the banana pudding, I had to try it. Bobby recently introduced me to this spectacular dessert, I love it. This was also sold by the Amish, it was tasty but I think Golden Correll still has the best banana pudding I’ve had.  Daddy and his boy!

Reading Terminal Market has so many different stores. They had a handmade soap and candle store, I didn’t get a chance to check it out but I definitely want to next time we go. There is also a bakery, handmade quilts, fresh fish, fruit and veggies, and tons of great food. It’s the perfect place to go to buy fresh, homemade, locally grown goodies!

Baby B was such a good boy. He loved to look at all the different colors and objects. He sat in his car seat looking up almost the whole time. I love to watch him experience things for the first time. Even though he may not remember we will be able to show him pictures and videos of his childhood. He looks so serious in all of the pictures we took, he’s showing his “mean mug”! After we ate we just walked around. We passed City Hall which is one of the most prettiest buildings Philadelphia has. It has the tiniest details, I can just imagine how much time it took to construct. In every big city there is a china town, this is the entrance to ours. The coloring and detail are beautiful.  We had an amazing day, and we don’t get to have them that often. With a new baby, time goes by so quickly, it’s nice to just take in precious time as a family.

What are some things that you like to do with your family, friends, or special someone?

Shades of Summer

The seasons are changing and summer is getting closer. Summer is the time when you sit in the hot sun having barbeques, going to the beach, and going to baseball games. While doing that you want to look fabulous and sunglasses are an essential part of an outfit. I have always been a fan of the large glasses. One because they cover your face when you’re not looking that great, and two they are the perfect accessory to everything you wear. No matter if you like then big or small, black or white there is a pair out there for everyone. This season, trends from last year have carried over, this means aviators, round and square, are here but with a twist. Prices of sunglasses can vary; I would suggest investing in 1 timeless pair of shades and then buying at least 3 inexpensive pairs.

The pair that you splurge on will be a pair that you have for a while so make sure they go well with the shape of your face, are a neutral color, and are comfortable. Try to stay away from ultra trendy shades because you don’t know if they will be in style next year. There are many different designer brands that make classic shades that can be used year after year. Designers’ like Gucci, Tom Ford, Oliver Peoples, and Chloe all have great shades that range in price and style. Saks Fifth Ave and Neiman Marcus have outlet stores that sell designer glasses for discounted prices. They carry last year’s styles that did not fully sell out before the new stockcame in. The prices start at under $100.00 and can find sales also featuring 20% off the already discounted prices. EBay and Amazon are great places to search for a certain pair for a cheaper price.

When it comes to more trendy sunglasses Urban Outfitter and Forever 21 have great designs. They take the most recent styles and make them at a more inexpensive price. You want to follow the same rules for cheaper glasses as you do with designer glasses. Make sure you find the right style for the shape of your face and the shades should be comfortable. The inexpensive pairs won’t be as durable, so if you really like the pair you might want to think about buying an additional pair. For me it’s hard to find the perfect pair so I like buy 2 just in case I loose or break the pair. Some stores get different styles every year, sometimes every couple months, so if you go back to find the same pair it’s going to be nearly impossible!

No matter if your young, old, rich or poor sunglasses are the perfect accessory to have this summer. If you want to invest in a good pair you should find the right structure and color for your face. I love my Tom Ford shades and I’m happy that I invested in them. Inexpensive pairs are great to have in different styles to go with certain looks. This season they are adding chains and rhinestone detailing to the rims. Everyone needs to go on the hunt for one pair that suites your style and I’m sure you will fall in love like I have!!

Happy Shopping!!
