Today my “not so little” boy is turning 4 months old. I’m definitely crying on the inside. Time has gone by like a blink of the eye. I want to go back in time to February 7th at 1:32a.m. The very second he was welcomed into the world. I want to go back to the very second I held him in my arms, and felt an instant love. I want to go back to our first night at home, the anxious feeling of whats to come. But I know I can’t go back. There are so many wonderful things ahead of us, and I wait with anticipation of what’s to come.

Weight: 13 LBS

Height: 24 IN

Rolling Over: Yes! From stomach to back and back to stomach. He’s master the stomach to back, and is working hard on back to stomach

Sleep: His sleep has gotten so much better, for the past week and a half he’s STTN. He goes to bed around 8am and wakes at 5-6am.                            Thanks God for his daddy, because I’m not a morning person, AT ALL! He’s moved into is his room. I thought I would be scared to                 have him be alone, but he sleeps so much better in there.  We still swaddle him, but plan on stopping soon.

Food: He’s been eating formula only for the past 2 months. The other day I wanted to see if he would take the boob again, perhaps for                     closure, but he screamed every time I tried. So there’s my closure I guess. He started solids  and loves it. He’s had bananas,                              butternut squash, rice, and oatmeal. I’ve made all of the baby food myself, which I plan to continue to do.I just use a grinder then               freeze it in ice-cube trays, and store it in dated containers. It’s so simple to just go warm it up and feed him. He’s eating 5oz every 3-             4hours, if we give him more he’ll end up spitting up.

Teeth: None yet, but he’s definitely teething. He’s a total drool-face, and eats his hands all day.

Likes: Staring in the mirror, Sophie, t.v, this fingers, his feet, being outside, his paci, he laughs when you stick your tongue out at him,                    being held, baths and the ABC song

Dislikes: Getting dressed, diaper changes, being put down, being the backseat alone (so driving alone has become a challenge), massages

Favorite toys: Teething book, Sophie, and his Wubby

Here are his 4 month photos we took today. Now I’m off to finish whiting my teeth with Crest White Strips and go to bed! This mama is tired!

Day 1(06) only 259 days to go!

I’ve decided to start taking pictures of Baby B everyday until he turns 1. I got the idea from a lovely girl on the Bump who also blogs (click here to check her out) about her daughter and documents almost everyday with a picture. I’m so excited to add this into my blog as well as my usual blog posts. It’s so important to me to have pictures of our family. I’ve always loved taking pictures so now I have to do it even if there’s nothing special going on. Bobby is already 3 months 2 weeks and 4 days old so we’ve missed 106 days, but that’s ok! We will just start with Day1 to make life a hell of a lot easier.

We continue to have an obsession with anything that goes in our mouth! For now we stick with teething rings, hands, and frozen banana’s. We broke out his walker a week ago and he’s okay with it for about 5 minutes. His feet don’t touch the ground, but I know once they do it’s off to the races. Everyday is something new, and he totally has stolen my heart!

So I know it was picture heavy next time I promise not as many! I hope you all are having a great week! Please leave a comment or subscribe I would love it ❤

Family Time is My Favorite Time

Today we decided to spend some family time together in Center City. It was a warm day and there’s nothing better than walking around enjoying the city. So we packed the diaper bag and headed out. We went to South St. since it’s full of shops and stuff, but it wasn’t as nice as I remember it to be. I always loved to go there and shop but they didn’t have any good stores. We went to eat at Reading Terminal Market, which is a farmers market with a variety of amazing food.

Bobby had gumbo from a creole restaurant, he said it was delicious. They even had alligator, but he wasn’t ready to try that.

I had the chicken wings from the Amish market. They taste so fresh and homemade. The wings are just seasoned and you can put a homemade hot sauce on them if you want. I just like them dry.  When I saw the banana pudding, I had to try it. Bobby recently introduced me to this spectacular dessert, I love it. This was also sold by the Amish, it was tasty but I think Golden Correll still has the best banana pudding I’ve had.  Daddy and his boy!

Reading Terminal Market has so many different stores. They had a handmade soap and candle store, I didn’t get a chance to check it out but I definitely want to next time we go. There is also a bakery, handmade quilts, fresh fish, fruit and veggies, and tons of great food. It’s the perfect place to go to buy fresh, homemade, locally grown goodies!

Baby B was such a good boy. He loved to look at all the different colors and objects. He sat in his car seat looking up almost the whole time. I love to watch him experience things for the first time. Even though he may not remember we will be able to show him pictures and videos of his childhood. He looks so serious in all of the pictures we took, he’s showing his “mean mug”! After we ate we just walked around. We passed City Hall which is one of the most prettiest buildings Philadelphia has. It has the tiniest details, I can just imagine how much time it took to construct. In every big city there is a china town, this is the entrance to ours. The coloring and detail are beautiful.  We had an amazing day, and we don’t get to have them that often. With a new baby, time goes by so quickly, it’s nice to just take in precious time as a family.

What are some things that you like to do with your family, friends, or special someone?

Baby’s First Easter

This Easter was the first holiday we were able to celebrate with Baby B since he was born in February. When I was pregnant I would think about how the holidays would be when he was here, and how exciting it will be to see the holidays through a child’s eyes. There’s nothing more special than to watch someone experience something new for the first time. I know I love experiencing new things in life. When I gave birth that was a feeling that I never felt before. It’s something you can’t put into words. I was experiencing something brand new for the first time. Baby B is still too young to know what was going on, but just having him here with us was wonderful.

Growing up we always had different traditions on holidays. On Easter we would go to Mass on Saturday night and then Easter morning we would go downstairs, find the eggs that we colored days before, then open our baskets. We always used the same colorful baskets. My mom would cook dinner, and all the brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews would be there. It’s memories like this I’m so excited to make with my family. To me, that’s what makes a holiday so special. I decided that I wanted to get Baby B a basket that he could use year after year. Something with his name on it. I started browsing Etsy and found a couple of cute buckets with names on them. I figured I could just make one myself and not spend $20-30. I asked Bobby’s Aunt to make it since she is wonderful at making crafty things like that. She got him the cutest duck easter basket and then put his name on it. It wasn’t what I had pictured, but it was perfect. Thanks Auntie!

Bobby and I decided to spend our first holiday as a family here at our house. I cooked and we just hung out enjoying the day. We did a mini photo shoot of Baby B in his Easter outfit. He wore an orange and white striped long-sleeved Ralph Lauren Polo romper and tan sneakers. He looked like a little preppy stud muffin! It’s hard to find cute clothes for boys, but you can never go wrong with Ralph Laurens Polo. It’s cute, comfortable, fits well, and is fashionable. It can be a little pricey, so thank God we have an outlet super close and Marshalls always carries it. We had a wonderful first Easter and I feel so blessed to have such an amazing son and fiance  to spend it with. Now it’s time to enjoy the warm weather of spring with long walks at the park, flip-flops, Rita’s Water Ice, and family!

Score At A Consignment Sale

This past weekend we went to the Lil’ Angels  Consignment Sale and brought some much-needed toys, books, and a couple of sleepers. I volunteered last sale they had, and was able to shop first which was great since they sell out of everything fast. So when I heard they were having their spring sale I decided to volunteer again. They had so many great items clothes, toys, books, strollers, pack n’plays, high chairs, and so much more. Friday evening we backed up B and headed to the sale. We found a couple of toys that light up and make noise which he really loves.

I’m the most excited about the Tiny Love mobile that we scored for $18.00. He loved mobile that went with his bedding set, it cost $45.00 and broke after a week. It was cheaply made and needed to be wound up every 5 minutes. I was searching online for a different one for him and saw some that were pretty awesome. I’m so glad I didn’t just buy the first one I saw, because I saved myself some money. As soon as we got home I ran to put the mobile together. It wasn’t the easiest thing I’ve done, the directions were somewhat confusing. After a good 30 minutes I managed put it together, and B loves it. I knew he would.

Anyway we had a wonderful time finding new things for B. Next time I will probably try to sell some of the things that the baby doesn’t need anymore. So here are some pictures of the thing we scored. All together we spent $45.00, the mobile alone would’ve cost about $30 brand new so I’m happy!

Hope you have a sensational day!

B is 2 months old!

The past 2 months have been life changing to say the least. Time is flying by so quickly, I have to remember to slow down and enjoy the little things. Some people dream of being a doctor or singer, I have always dreamed of being a mother and a wife. I know that may sound silly, that being my only dream but it was. I had an amazing mother to aspire to be just like, sadly she was taken away from our family 15 years ago but I strive to everyday to be half the mom she was. I’m trying to enjoy every smile and sound, and not wishing him to grow up too fast. B is a wonderful boy and handsome like his dad. He’s starting to get this little personality and laughs at the funny faces we make at him. Thankfully he’s started sleeping more at night, we do our bedtime routine at 8pm and he’s usually asleep by 9 o’clock and won’t wake until 4am to feed. After he eats he’s back to sleep until 8am when we get up for the day. Right now I’m lucky because I’m able to stay home with him. I’m hoping to be able to be a stay at home mom indefinitely, but we’ll have to see once the summer is over. B is going for his 2 month shots in the middle of this month, so I’m sure that’ll we fun! Right? We went to our local consignment sale last week and scored an awesome mobile, some toys and books. I’ll be doing a post to show all his goodies. I’ve lost all the baby weight, so now I need to tone up which will probably be the hardest because I hate working out. I feel somewhat like myself just tired. I’ve started a daily schedule for myself and baby. I couldn’t watch another day of trash t.v anymore. We did B’s 2 month photo shoot and wanted to share some of the picture we took!

I have a couple new posts planned so look out for them. If you have any request or ideas please share!

Have a sensational day

Boobs, Baby, Butts…Update!

My life for the past 2 weeks has consisted of boobs, baby, and butts. I haven’t had a full night sleep since I gave birth, I’m starting to forget what good rest feels like. Before I had lil’ B I’d sleep till about 2p.m, eat breakfast, then lay on the couch and watch day time t.v. It’s just a little different now, I still can watch t.v but, I’ll be interrupted, so relaxing is out for now. Since getting home from the hospital breastfeeding has gotten so much easier. The baby is nursing 98% of the time, the only time we give him formula is when we were out, or if company was here and I didn’t want to have to take the baby away from them. I still haven’t mastered it, by any means, he cries bloody murder is I don’t get the boob out fast enough. I just don’t get as flustered if he does cry.

This boy poops more than I ever imagined, he makes the cutest face when he’s going it makes me smile. He had a little diaper rash for the past couple days, so when we went to the doctor this week he said that Destin was okay to use. He also screams like we are torturing him when we change his diaper, I was thinking it’s because of the diaper rash hurting him. I use the Pamper Sensitive wipes, but I think they might be too rough for him. Now we use warm water and he doesn’t cry, so that’s awesome.

Thank God he’s a good sleeper, we had to go out and get a co-sleeper so the baby can sleep in the bed safely. We think he hated his Pack ‘N Play and that’s why he didn’t sleep at night. We let him sleep in the bed 1 night and he only woke up twice to eat. We couldn’t believe it, I know co-sleeping is controversal but I will do whatever it takes to make my baby happy. Before I had him to thought co-sleeping was dangerous and never wanted to do it, it shows you can never say never. Babies are unpredictable and don’t always do what you want them too. We don’t plan on doing it forever but I do want the baby to know that our bed is a family bed, and when he’s older he can come sleep in our bed if he has a bad dream or is sick. I  remember when I was a kid I would just lay in bed afraid if I had a bad dream because my dad didn’t like us sleeping in their room.

I’m almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight, I have about 5 lbs more to lose and I will weight what U did when I got pregnant. I want to try to lose and extra  10 lbs, but I’m not gonna stress over my weight.  I have to tone up, my stomach flabby and I still have the linea nigera line going down my stomach, which is gross. My boobs have gotten ginormous they are almost the size a seedless watermelon. I was a 36F before the baby and God only knows what I am now, I wear a nursing sports bra and my boobs are always coming out from underneath. I will get a reduction if they don’t go away after I’m done breastfeeding, they are way to big for my body. I feel great for just having a baby, I try to get ready everyday so I feel good about myself and so I look good in pictures haha. I’ve been emotional a couple of times this past week, but nothing to worry about. I get really bad PMS, almost like PMDD where I will be depressed and erratic a couple of days before my period, so I thought I might get postpartum depression but luckily I haven’t.

We had to get out of the house this week, there were 2 really nice days of about 70 degree weather this week. We went to the river and walked around with the baby and Diva, we went to the mall to get some more newborn sized clothes because we only had a couple of things and 0-3 month doesn’t fit yet. Bobby also had his first doctors appointment, and will have another at 6 weeks to get his shots. I took pictures of all his first, it was way more exciting for me then him!

Hope you have a Sensational day!
